Friends find Newfoundland man dead in truck

ST. JOHN S, N.L. Friends of a man who was found dead in his pickup truck off a Newfoundland highway say they are frustrated by police efforts to locate him.

Sheldon Quinton was reported missing when he did not show up for work in Bull Arm on Monday. Friends say they began searching for the 42-year-old man from St. John s when they grew impatient with the police response.

They found Quinton and his truck over an embankment near Foxtrap on Thursday morning.

Quinton s friend Kim Carter says they pleaded with officials to check the highway.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says officers looked into several leads and were in touch with the RCMP about keeping a check along the highway. (VOCM)
