Lorry attendant loses left hand, leg in crash with trailer lorry

REMBAU: A lorry attendant lost his left hand and leg, when the lorry he was travelling in rear-ended a trailer lorry, laden with chicken feed at KM231.6 of the North South Highway near Pedas exit here, this morning.

The victim, a Myanmar national in his 30s and a local man, were on their way to Malacca from Kuala Lumpur, when the accident occurred at 10am.

Rembau police chief Deputy Superitendent Ibrahim Sharif said the lorry had slammed into the stalled trailer lorry at the emergency lane.

“The victim was pinned to his seat during the crash.

After being rescued, he was rushed to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban but is said to be in a critical condition.

We were informed he had lost his left hand and leg,” he said.

The lorry driver however was unhurt.

Ibrahim said, the case would investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
