Watch lorry belonging to Derbyshire firm in dramatic near-miss

This shocking video shows how a lorry belonging to a Derbyshire-based firm had a dramatic near-miss with another vehicle. The clip has reportedly gone viral, according to the Burton Mail[1]. It shows Chris Sherburn driving along the A40 Brecon Road, outside Llandovery, Wales, when the lorry flies around the bend on the wrong side of the carriageway.

The driver pulls his vehicle into the kerb, narrowly missing the on-coming FAKRO lorry. The roof window and loft ladder manufacturers company has a head office in Hearthcote Road, Swadlincote[2], and said it has launched an investigation.

The video was posted on Facebook on April 8 and has already been shared more than 15,000 times and has had more than 1.5 million views. A spokesman for FAKRO told the South Wales Guardian[3]: “We would like to take the opportunity to express concern about the accident involving a delivery vehicle which has been highlighted on Youtube and other social media. We are, of course, extremely relieved that no serious personal injuries resulted from the incident which will be the subject of a full investigation.

“The lorry was returning from a customer.

The police will be given our complete co-operation at all times as we seek to ensure that the matter is dealt with in an appropriate and timely way.”
