Driver flown to hospital after semi rollover on U.S. 23 at I-94

PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – A semi-truck driver was flown to the hospital after a rollover crash Wednesday, May 17. At about 7 a.m., a semi carrying a load of paper products rolled over on southbound U.S.

23 near I-94 in Pittsfield Township, said Sean Gleason, Pittsfield Township fire chief. Southbound U.S.

23 near Ann Arbor closed after crash[1] The male driver was pinned in the cab and required extensive extrication, Gleason said. Firefighters and emergency responders eventually got him out of the cab, he said.

University of Michigan Survival Flight took the man in critical condition to the UM hospital.

23 ramp to I-94 remain closed as of 8:45 a.m., and traffic in the area is backed up for miles.
