Worplesdon road closure after lorry gets ‘wedged’ attempting to avoid height restricted bridge
A lorry got “wedged” across a road in Worplesdon on Friday (May 19) when the driver attempted to turn around at a height restricted bridge. Surrey Police closed Prey Heath Road while attempts were made to remove the vehicle. Gary Hall saw the incident from his home and, speaking to Get Surrey at 9.10am, he said: “The lorry is still very wedged in and a recovery lorry has just arrived.
“This road has a height restriction on the bridge so he has tried to turn around but his rear wheel has dropped into a ditch.”
Mr Hill said the lorry first got stuck at around 8.10am and that police closed the road just after 9am.
“The lorry is stuck in the first entrance into the heath very close to Prey Heath Close.

“The police closed the road because everyone was turning around in people’s driveways.”
Recovery of the lorry was almost complete at 9.45am.
