A broken down lorry inside the west tunnel at the Dartford Crossing is causing hour-long delays for motorists on the M25 this afternoon.

Specialist recovery is needed to retrieve the HGV, which means the tunnel has been closed to traffic since around 12.15pm.

While the east tunnel remains open, there is queuing traffic on the approach, heading back to junction three for Swanley on the anti-clockwise carriageway.

Delays of up to an hour are being reported, with Highways England traffic officers expecting the tunnel to remain closed for “at least another hour”.
