Heavy traffic on M25 after multi-vehicle crash blocks one lane on Dartford Crossing

There is heavy traffic on the M25 clockwise after a multiple vehicle crash blocked two lanes on the Dartford Crossing. The crash is believed to have happened at about 11am this morning and involved on HGV and one car. Kent Fire and Rescue service worked to extract a patient from a vehicle.

One lane was closed and traffic was queuing due to the accident on A282 Canterbury Way Clockwise between A1306 Arterial Road West Thurrock and M25 Canterbury Way. Lanes one and two of four were closed over the bridge and there was a rolling road block in place in lanes 3 and 4. Emergency services, including the fire service and ambulance crews, are currently attending the QEII Bridge.

The central reservation barrier has been damaged as a result of the crash.

All lanes have now been reopened but there remains at least five miles of queues.

Drivers are warned to expect delays and seek alternative routes if possible.
