Inquest hears lorry driver wasn’t aware of heavy load he was carrying before he plunged off bridge

The inquest into a man who was killed when his lorry plunged off a bridge on the A12 in Essex has heard he was unaware of the heavy industrial battery he was carrying.

Gurdip Johal, who was 30, died in February when the HGV truck he was driving, burst into flames on the road between Kelvedon and Witham in Essex.

On Monday 17 July an inquest was told the lorry had an “unusually high centre of gravity” which contributed to the crash.
