Officials: Pickup Truck Driver Killed In Crash With State Police SUV

MIDDLESEX TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — The driver of a pickup truck was killed early this morning in an accident with a state police SUV in Butler County. The accident happened around 6:20 a.m. on the westbound side of Route 228 in Middlesex Township. According to state police, the truck driver who died was ejected from the vehicle.

His name has not yet been released.

State police remained on the accident scene for several hours reconstructing the crash. They believe the pickup truck driver may have crossed over into the trooper’s lane and hit the SUV head-on.

The Butler County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene. There’s no word on the condition of the state trooper, but that person was not seriously injured. Stay with KDKA for the latest on this developing story.
