TRIBUTES have been made for a popular Spanish teacher at Ormiston Park Academy who died in a horror crash between a car and a lorry in Great Warley, Brentwood. Raul Canet Espi, 36, was the driver of a Renault Scenic that was involved in a collision with a MAN truck on the B186 Warley Street, Great Warley, shortly after 6.50am on Wednesday February 24. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal London Hospital where he sadly died on Thursday, March 3.

Mr Canet, who lived in Southend, had taught Spanish at Ormiston Park Academy in Aveley since September last year.

Huw Derrick, Principal of Ormiston Park, said: “All of our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.

“Students, staff and the wider community are incredibly saddened and have been pulling together to support each other. The academy is providing every help that we can.

“I can speak for everyone in saying that we will always remember Mr Canet and the contribution he has made to our school.”
