Apartment window damaged

Somerset Borough police are investigating an incident at an apartment in the 700 block of North Center Avenue. Tenant Hope Steyer told police that she arrived home Sunday morning to find damage to a front window and screen. The screen appeared to be cut, and the window appeared to be pried open, but no tool marks were found, police said. A neighbor told police he heard a noise downstairs, went to investigate and noticed two young black males attempting to get into the window. The neighbor grabbed one, but both ran away. Police said the pair ran south on North Center Avenue.

One injured in accident

Two vehicles collided Thursday morning along East Main Street in Somerset Borough. Borough police were dispatched to East Main Street and Walnut Street, where they found a silver sedan with front-end damage in the west lane and a truck on its side in the front yard at 697 E. Main St. Police summoned emergency medical services for one driver, Jenna Weimer, 20, of Rockwood. The other driver, Garret Maus, 44, of Jennerstown, and his passenger, Chris Moskey, 40, of Stoystown, were not injured, according to police. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Bicycle stolen

Somerset Borough police are investigating a theft. Jay Lape, of Somerset, reported that his bicycle was stolen outside his residence in the 100 block of West Union Street sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

Items taken from vehicle

Items were stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of West Main Street last week, according to Somerset Borough police. Owner Sara Burnworth said the theft occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.
