Crash involving cars, tractor-trailer, dump truck on U.S. 58 in Suffolk sends 2 to hospital


A driver and passenger were taken to a hospital this morning after a crash on U.S. 58 involving two passenger vehicles, a tractor-trailer and a dump truck. The crash, reported about 7:20 a.m., happened near the downtown exit, a city news release says. The injuries to the driver and a passenger in a Nissan were not believed to be life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.

Both of the westbound lanes were open after the crash and one lane was closed because of debris in the road. All lanes reopened at 8:30 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
