Ocean Springs police reports, May 27-June 12, 2016

OCEAN SPRINGS, Mississippi — The following incidents have been reported by the Ocean Springs Police Department for May 27-June 12, 2016:

Friday, May 27

  • Christopher Williams was arrested on Station on a warrant for domestic violence.
  • Rachel Sharp was arrested on Bienville on a warrant for simple assault.
  • Jennifer Andrews was arrested on Denny on a warrant for trespassing.
  • There was a report of domestic violence on Martin Luther King. Officers found no evidence of a physical altercation.
  • A caller on Cleveland requested a written report to document a disturbance of the peace after the fact.
  • A reporting party on Bienville reported a lost cell phone.
  • A reporting party on Bienville requested a written report to document a custody issue.
  • There was a report regarding a burglary on Alice. No items appeared to have been taken.
  • Todd Crone was arrested on Bienville for shoplifting.
  • Officers responded to a report of two individuals involved in a verbal altercation on Pine. Parties were separated for the night.
  • There was a report on Bienville of the theft of prescription medications.

Saturday, May 28

No incidents reported.

Sunday, May 29

  • There was a report of an item stolen from a carport on Hunter. Item was later found and returned to owner.
  • James Blanchard and David Gaines were arrested for public intoxication on Washington.
  • Gilbert Tharp was arrested for public intoxication on Bienville.

Monday, May 30

  • Milton Marks was arrested on Bienville on a warrant for harassing/obscene phone calls.
  • There was a report on Bienville of the theft of an item from the bed of a truck.
  • Officers responded to a report of two individuals involved in a verbal altercation on Bienville.
  • There was a report of a physical altercation between two parties on Government. Both parties wished to pursue charges against the other for simple assault.

Tuesday, May 31

  • Donald Waltman Jr. was arrested on Bienville on warrants for receiving stolen property and contempt of court/failure to appear.
  • John Sherrard was arrested on Sussex for domestic violence.
  • Dashron Tucker was arrested on Bienville on a warrant for animal control violation/running at large.

Wednesday, May 1

  • Bridgette Tice was arrested on Holcomb for domestic violence/simple assault; Joshua Merlau was arrested for arrested for domestic violence, disorderly conduct/failure to comply, simple possession of marijuana and malicious mischief to city property.
  • A caller on Bechtel advised of fraudulent charges to his credit card.
  • There was a report of damage to a city water meter on Olympic.
  • A reporting party on Bienville requested a report for documentation of a dispute with a business owner.
  • A wallet was reported stolen on Bienville.
  • Officers responded to a domestic violence call on Cumberland. Suspect was gone when officers arrived and reporting party wished to pursue charges.
  • Joe Walker was arrested on Washington on two warrants for indecent exposure.

Thursday, May 2

  • A caller on Queen Elizabeth advised of fraudulent charges to his credit card. Caller further advised receiving credit cards by mail for which he did not apply.
  • A reporting party on Bienville advised her cell phone had been stolen.
  • A reporting party on Bienville requested a written report to document a verbal altercation with an identified individual.
  • A reporting party on Bienville advised her identity was stolen and used to purchase several items.

Friday, June 3

  • There was a report on Ocean Springs Road of an unidentified individual using counterfeit money to purchase items from a business. The suspect bill was collected as evidence.
  • A reporting party on Bienville advised that he purchased a laptop from identified individuals after meeting through social media. The man further advised the laptop would not function and was later found to be stolen. The laptop was recovered and the victim signed charges against the individuals who sold him the laptop.
  • A reporting party on Bienville advised that an unidentified individual threw a drink bottle at her vehicle and caused a crack to the windshield in an apparent road rage incident.

Saturday, June 4

  • There was a report of domestic violence on Bienville. Both parties were at the scene when officers arrived and there was no evidence of physical violence. Neither party wished to pursue charges and the parties were separated.
  • There was a report on Porter of a vehicle burglary with several items taken.
  • A caller on Bienville advised that an unidentified individual shoplifted several items from a business.
  • There was a report of parts stolen off an air conditioning unit on Carpenter.
  • A wallet was reported lost on Ocean Springs Road.
  • There was a report of a business burglarized and money taken on Washington.
  • Joshua Boone was arrested on Bristol for eluding police in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, no insurance and driving with a suspended license (DUI related).

Sunday, June 5

  • Officers responded to a verbal domestic on King Henry and the parties were separated.
  • Justin Nelson was arrested on Bienville for felony aggravated DUI – causing injury or death, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, and duties of driver involved in accident resulting in injury or death.
  • David Nicholson was arrested for public intoxication on Bellande.
  • Dustin Sorensen was arrested for public intoxication on Government.
  • Jordan Killam was arrested for public intoxication on Government.
  • There was a report on Bienville of a coin-operated vending machine being burglarized and money taken.
  • There was a report of items missing on Stuart.
  • Officers responded to a report of domestic violence on Lawnwood. It was determined that physical violence was involved and an affidavit would be issued against the suspect.
  • The emergency control light for the fire department appeared to have been struck by an unknown vehicle and was damaged on Bienville.

Monday, June 6

  • A caller on Bienville advised his golf cart had been stolen. The caller recovered his golf cart at a city park, but the golf cart had been damaged.
  • Officers responded to a call of a verbal domestic dispute on Cornwall. There was no evidence of any physical violence and neither party wished to pursue charges. The parties were separated.
  • There was a report on Bienville of an identified employee embezzling money from a business. Owner wished to pursue charges.
  • There was a report on Bienville of a storage unit being burglarized with several items taken.

Tuesday, June 7

  • Melissa Hunter was arrested on Bienville on two warrants for credit card use/fraud.
  • There was a report on Bienville of a customer attempting to pay with a counterfeit bill. Bill was collected as evidence.
  • A gas can on Linda was reported stolen.
  • A caller on Hanley advised receiving harassing phone calls and text messages from her boyfriend.
  • William Harrell was arrested for public intoxication on Ocean Springs Road.
  • A caller on Davidson advised he had noticed fraudulent activity on his credit report.
  • Alexander Weaver was arrested on Bienville for contempt of court/non-payment of fine and later charged with malicious mischief to city property.
  • Jeffery Bourque Sr. and Jeffery Bourque Jr. were each arrested for domestic violence/simple assault on Nelson.

Wednesday, June 8

  • There was a report on Government of an unidentified individual maliciously causing damage to property.
  • There was a request on Bienville for a report to document issues with vagrants.
  • A caller on Government requested a written report to document malicious damage to a fence.
  • There was a report on Bienville of power equipment stolen from the bed of a truck.

Thursday, June 9

  • Timothy Harper was arrested on Rue Maurepas on a warrant for domestic violence/simple assault.
  • A wallet found on Bechtel was turned over to an officer.

Friday, June 10

  • An item was reported missing from a back porch on Front Beach.
  • There was a report of a verbal domestic dispute on Bryant. Officers found no signs of physical violence and neither party wished to pursue charges. Parties were separated.
  • A caller on Cumberland advised she loaned her vehicle to an identified individual who is now refusing to return it.
  • A reporting party on Bienville advised her cell phone was lost.
  • There was a report on Bienville of possible shoplifting from a business by two unidentified individuals.

Saturday, June 11

  • Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute call on Bienville. Parties did not wish to pursue charges and agreed to leave the scene together.
  • A caller on Wellington requested a written report to document an ongoing dispute over a problem with her neighbor’s dogs.

Sunday, June 12

  • A mailbox was maliciously damaged on Yosemite.
  • A bicycle was found on Yosemite. The bicycle was transported to the police station.
  • Kathy Besses was arrested on Bienville for disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
  • Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute on Woody. There were no signs of physical violence and neither party wished to pursue charges.
