Part of the A11 is blocked after a lorry shed its load on the busy road.

The accident happened on the southbound carriageway, towards Thetford, at Snetterton just after 9.20am on Wednesday. A Norfolk Police spokesman said two lorries were involved in the incident which has caused “significant delays” for motorists. The southbound carriageway has been blocked but the northbound carriargeway towards Norwich is open.

There is a lot of soil, rock and bits of bumper on the A11 and “significant” damage has been caused by the incident, according to the police spokesman. It is not clear what the lorries were transporting. Highways officers have been called but no other emergency services were alerted.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
