A12 lorry driver who died in crash confirmed to be from Witham

Police have confirmed the man who died in a horrific lorry crash on the A12 was from Witham. The driver, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead by the ambulance service shortly after his lorry came off Colemans bridge, near Witham[2], at around 3.45pm yesterday (February 8). A multi-agency recovery operation is ongoing, due to the nature of the load carried by the lorry.

Drivers are being advised that the A12 southbound[4] in Witham, between Marks Tey (junction 25) and Witham South (junction 20B), will be closed until at least lunchtime today (February 9).

Further updates will be provided throughout the day. Officers are investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision and would appeal for anyone who saw what may have happened who has not already contacted police to get in touch.
