A520 Weston Road in Weston Coyney closed after lorry sheds load of offal

A lorry transporting offal has shed its load on a busy residential street. The lorry has shed its load on the A520 Weston Road in Weston Coyney. The road is closed in both directions and eyewitnesses say the police are in attendance.

The accident has taken place between B5040 Park Hall Road / Caverswall Road and Main Street. First Potteries have confirmed some of their buses have been diverted as a result of the accident.
A spokesman said: “Service 6 is being impacted upon by an overturned HGV in the Meir area – apologies to affected customers.”

This problem & general stench could so easily be resolved if Defra could be bothered.”

The accident is understood to have taken place at around 3.30pm this afternoon.
