Driver hurt in lorry and car crash on M5 between junctions five and six

A 62-YEAR-OLD man vomited after a crash involving two vehicles on the M5 northbound. The driver was injured after a car and a lorry collided on the motorway, near Oddingley, between junctions five and six. West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] were called to the scene at 7.32am and said the man is in shock and suffering from chest pains.

An ambulance and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene. The motorway is partially blocked as a result of the crash and two lanes have been closed. Traffic England said it will take until 9.15am for traffic conditions to return to normal.

Some have warned that delays of up to an hour can be expected. An ambulance spokesman said the patient would probably be taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital. UPDATE (8.31am): All lanes on the M5 northbound have now been reopened.
