A lorry has plunged down a ditch after being blown of a busy east Yorkshire motorway. A Home Bargains lorry had been blown off the southbound carriageway of the M18 between Goole[2] and Thorne. Crews from Humberside Police[3] and Humberside Fire and Rescue are currently in attendance at the scene.

The condition of the driver is unknown. More news: Two people trapped inside Hull high-rise lift[4] Eye witnesses have said any debris is on the hard shoulder and not across the carriageway, but emergency services[5] have closed one lane while they deal with the incident.

The road has been closed between junction 7 for the M62 at Langham and junction 6 for the A614 at Thorne.

But traffic is broadly unaffected, and the eyewitness said the road was quiet and traffic is coping well.
