Police in Kibwezi on Tuesday intercepted a lorry suspected to have been carrying uncustomed goods at Migigo, five kilometres from Mtito Andei police station on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. They recovered 80 drums of ethanol worth millions of shillings. Kibwezi police boss Leonard Kimaiyo said they suspect the luggage was being transported from a neighbouring country to Nairobi.

Kimaiyo said police have arrested the driver and his loader who are being held at Mtito Andei police station waiting to be charged.

He said they called Kenya Revenue Authority officers from Nairobi to check the goods.

The lorry was towed to Mtito Andei police station.
