Lorry driver charged after crashing into Barrow railway bridge

9 February 2017 11:42AM A LORRY driver is due to appear in court charged with driving without due care and attention after crashing into a railway bridge in Barrow.

Salthouse Road in Barrow was closed for a number of hours after an Eddie Stobart lorry crashed into the railway bridge on November 19 of last year. A number of train services between Barrow and Lancaster were delayed as a result of the collision. Seweryn Biziewski, of Jefferson Street, Goole, in Yorkshire, has been charged with driving without due care and attention in that he failed to take the height of his vehicle into account when driving under the bridge.

The 36-year-old is due to appear at Furness Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
