Lorry driver jailed after crash which killed two people

A former Army tank driver who ploughed his lorry into a queue of traffic on the Bedford bypass killing two people has been jailed for 56 months. Six vehicles were involved in the accident. Martyn Graham, 58 and from Stevenage , hit the first vehicle at 56 mph, without braking at all.

A web cam in his cab showed the brake lights ahead for 17 seconds before the collision.

Graham pleaded guilty at Luton Crown Court to two charges of causing death by dangerous driving and two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was also banned from driving for five years.
