Motorists using the M5 face disruption this afternoon (February 3) due to a broken down lorry. One lane is closed on the M5 northbound between junction 22 (Burnham-on-Sea) and junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare[2]) following the incident, which occurred just before 2pm today. Officers from Avon and Somerset Constabulary are understood to be at the scene, and recovery work is under way to make the vehicle safe.

Traffic is moving smoothly in the remaining two lanes, but motorists are advised to proceed with caution and to use alternative routes if they wish to avoid delays. MORE: Man released from car by firefighters after Taunton crash[3] M5 users also face roadworks further to the south[4] throughout this afternoon, with the A303 also being affected.

A delay between Tiverton and Wellington[5] from earlier in the day has now been completely cleared.
