Reality TV star’s car involved in Switch Island lorry crash

Liverpool reality TV star Chelsey Harwood[1] ‘s car was involved in a crash with a lorry this evening. The accident happened on Dunningsbridge Road near to Switch Island at the height of this evening’s rush hour[2] .

It led to massive traffic congestion after the lorry was left blocking four lanes of the carriageway heading towards the M57. Later Chelsey shared pictures of her white Smart car soon after the accident to her 42,800 social media followers.

The pictures showed extensive damage to the front and one side of the car.

She told the ECHO she escaped by climbing out of the car window. She added: “I banged my head on the window as I was taken sideways across the junction.” Police said they were were informed of the accident around 5.40pm.

A spokesperson said shortly afterwards: “There does not appear, at this time, to be any injuries reported from the accident.”

Delays were experienced on the M57, M58 and Broom’s Cross Road approaching Switch Island.

Chelsey Harwood appeared on Celebrity Botched Up Bodies.

Officers from Merseyside Police[3] were advising drivers to avoid the area at all costs and to find alternative routes to their destinations.

This Is Liverpool and Hollyoaks cast member Chelsey was born a boy and now describes herself as a transgender actress.
