Two hurt in M42 crash as cars and lorry collide

Two people were rushed to hospital[1] after a three-vehicle pile-up on the M42[2] . A lorry and two cars collided on the northbound carriageway, between junctions five, for Solihull[3] , and six, near Birmingham Airport, at 7.30pm on Tuesday. A man in his 20s and a woman in her 80s, both from different cars, were taken to Heartlands Hospital[4] .

The man suffered a suspected wrist fracture and hand injury and the woman suffered stomach and back pain.
