Updates: Commuters face long delays after HGV crash

Commuters heading to the M6 Southbound are facing huge delays following a crash near Spaghetti Junction. Traffic has been halted after a lorry and a car collided on the slip road withing J6 around 7am. One lane had been initially closed on the approach to the accident but traffic has now been stopped while Highways England and West Midlands Fire Service assess a large diesel spill.

Highways England said: “Our contractors have stopped traffic on #M6 S/B within J6 while they assess the large diesel spill. @WestMidsFire also now on scene.”

The accident is expected to cause long delays as we head into the rush hour.

The incident is expected to be cleared by 9.15am.
