Victim of fatal lorry crash in Lichfield Road near Erdington named as Simon…

THE pedestrian who died after being hit by a lorry near Erdington has been identified as a man from Kingstanding. Simon Morris was struck by a lorry on Salford Circus at around 3pm on Monday (February 6). The 26-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics but sadly died in hospital later that day.

Crash investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Lichfield Road and Cuckoo Bridge at the time of the crash, or anyone who witnessed the collision, to come forward. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We are appealing for information to help piece together the victim’s final moments. “The family of Simon are being liaised with by specialist officers and our thoughts remain with them at this sad time.

“We owe it to the family to establish what happened and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who have not spoken to officers yet to come forward.”
