Driver sustains injuries in bus-lorry collision

ATTINGAL: A lorry driver sustained serious injuries when a KSRTC Scania Bus rammed his vehicle near the Poovambara Bridge in Attingal. Shinu (35) of Nedumangad has been admitted at the medical college hospital in the capital city. The accident occurred Thursday morning at 5.30 am.

The labourers were engaged in drawing the Zebra crossing lines as part of maintenance work on the national highway. As it was very dark, the driver of the lorry carrying sand from Kollam, did not see them and when the vehicle reached near them, he applied a sudden brake. The KSRTC scania bus which was behind rammed into the lorry.

The bus was coming to Thiruvananthapuram from Bengaluru. The front portion of the bus has been completely damaged. Shinu sustained injuries on his hands, legs and neck.

None of the 36 passengers in the bus sustained any injuries.
