2 of inter-state truck lifters gang arrested

Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested two persons of inter-State gang involved in stealing of trucks from Khamtarai area. Four trucks were recovered.

While addressing mediapersons, Ajatshatru Bahadur Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) and ASP (City) Vijay Agrawal informed that the incident of stolen trucks which took place in May, August (2016) and March 2017 at Rawabhata Transport Nagar was revealed by the arrested persons. The accused used to target the drivers of trucks parked at transport nagar, Rawabhata.

By projecting themselves as driver they develop friendship with the truck driver and insisting them to take meal together. In the mean time they mixed some sedatives which makes drivers unconscious after consuming the food. In the mean time seeking the opportunities they used to steal the truck.

During investigation police found that the trucks stolen were taken towards Bilaspur and were deserted at the lonely places. Police party reached Bilaspur and seized stolen trucks (CG17/ZC/0367) and (CG09/B/0570). During investigation police arrested Niyaz Ahmed (36) a resident of Jhalmala Bhaisa Bazar, Sarkar Ali (28), a resident of Chinhati village, Bilaspur and Lakhbeer Singh alias Lakhha (40), a resident of Ring Road Gurudwara, Indore.

Police recovered four trucks worth over Rs 80 lakhs.

The trucks were registered in the name of Vijendra Gupta, Ambikapur (CG15/AC/4784), Shiv Prasad Chandravanshi, Indore (CG15/AC/1815), Sukhram Mandavi of Bilaspur (CG17/ZC/0367) and Chhotelal Pandey of Dharsiwa (CG09/B/0517).
