A12 closed after lorry hits bridge near Ingatestone

The A12 is completely closed after a lorry crashed into a bridge near the junction with Ingatestone. The crash[2] was first reported at around 12pm this afternoon (Monday, July 3) and initially the road remained open heading southbound. Emergency services have now arrived on the scene however and are implementing a road closure after a lorry carrying a large piece of machinery struck the Fryerning Bridge[3] near junction 13.

The road is likely to remain closed for some time.
