EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —

A person involved in a hit-and-run collision on Easter has come forward to police, police officials said. El Paso police tweeted Monday that the person, whose name was not released, came forward to them after the media reported about the incident, in which a white pickup truck hit a pedestrian who was helping a man push his broken-down car.

According to the EPPD, about 2:30 a.m. Sunday a man started to have car troubles around the 10700 block of Gateway East. Pedestrians Javier Rivera and Devon Miller ran out to help push the car to a safe location.

The pickup, which was traveling on Gateway East, then hit Miller, according to authorities. The driver fled the scene after the collision. Special traffic investigators are now investigating the incident.

The investigators say they were looking for the white pickup, possibly a Chevy Avalanche, with extensive front end-end damage.

If you have any information regarding this case or any other, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477.
