Lorry carrying chickens overturns on Gresford roundabout

A lorry carrying chickens has overturned on the Gresford Roundabout near Wrexham. Residents are urged to avoid the area whilst police arrange for the removal of the lorry and its cargo of live chickens. Leader photographer Craig Colville, who has been at the scene of the incident, said that the chickens are being removed from the HGV cage by cage.

The Leader: In a tweet, North Wales Police said: “We currently have a lane closure in place on the Gresford roundabout and Northbound on slip due to an overturned wagon. The Leader:

“There will be some delays whilst we deal with the incident. Thank you.” A spokesperson from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “There is a fire engine and an Environmental Protection Unit in attendance to contain diesel from the lorry.

The clear-up at the scene is still on-going.”
