M60 and M62 delays after three-vehicle crash between Heywood and Simister Island

There are long delays on the M62 following smash involving three vehicles. Drivers are stuck in 50 minute delays following the crash, which happened eastbound between junction 18 for Simister Island and junction 19 for Heywood. Lane four is currently closed and there are huge tailbacks stretching all the way to junction 12, for the M602 (Eccles interchange).

Highways England tweeted: “Lane four (of four) remains closed, with delays on approach.” North West Motorway Police tweeted that there were reports of an accident involving two cars and a HGV and that there are ‘no reports of any injuries’. Got a story or an issue you want us to investigate?
