Police officers have arrested a HGV driver – after he was caught travelling the wrong way on the M6 Toll Road. The Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG) – a team made up of officers from Staffordshire and the West Midlands – revealed they stopped the driver earlier today. It came just hours after they arrested a taxi driver after a breath test said he was five times the legal limit.

A CMPG spokesman said: “The driver of this HGV decided to travel the wrong way along the M6 Toll.

“Driver arrested and off to custody.”
