Recap after lorry is wedged under railway bridge in Stoneferry Road

A major Hull road has been closed for much of the morning after a lorry got stuck underneath a railway bridge. Traffic is facing major delays throughout the city centre after an HGV became wedged underneath a bridge in Stoneferry Road. Pictures taken by eye-witnesses at the scene showed the large, white HGV with a blue front had collided with the railway bridge in Stoneferry Road in east Hull.

Humberside Police were at the scene directing traffic at the junction with Woodhall Street. Traffic has become “heavy” at the blocked road and one driver said it had become “gridlocked.” Eye-witnesses posting to Hull Live’s Hull Traffic and Travel page say it is causing major delays in the area.

We will be bringing you live updates from the scene as they come in, which will appear in the blog below.
