Footage has emerged of an out-of-control truck smashing into a car just metres from a major intersection.

On Tuesday, Dash Cam Owners Australia uploaded a clip to its Facebook[1] page showing the accident on Springvale Rd in Glen Waverley in Melbourne[2].

In the video, the truck driver can be seen rapidly approaching a red light as the cars in front slowed down.

The truck (pictured left) can be seen heading towards the two stationary vehicles

After the breaks failed, the truck smashed into a car in Glen Waverley, in Melbourne’s south-east

He then smashes into the back of a stationary car heading south towards Highbury Road, causing it to roll into another vehicle ahead.

One Facebook user questioned whether the truck had ‘defective breaks’, with another stating truck brakes are ‘meant to lock in the event of a failure.’

The clip has been viewed over 62,000 times with just under 200 comments.
