Everything you need to know about Truckfest which returns to Somerset for 2019

Truckfest is returning to Somerset once more for 2019. Europe’s largest trucking festival will be at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet for it’s 34th year at the end of the summer. Between August 31 and September 2, visitors can see monster trucks crushing cars, bike stunts and some may even get the chance to ride in a monster truck themselves.

Here’s what you can expect ahead of the exciting weekend of entertainment.

Truck displays

There will several truck displays across the weekend from some of the top trucks across the county. Vintage, American and modern trucks will be on display for all to see, as well as haulier showcases. The Oklahoma Willy Jet Bus will be spewing it’s flames for all to see.

You can also see the truck from one of the most famous trucker movies, ‘Smokey and the Bandit’.

Monster truck entertainment

For the adrenaline junkies at the festival, they will have the opportunity to ride in an actual monster truck. If you missed out on the opportunity last year, now could be your chance. There will also be a monster truck car crushing display with trucks Swamp Thing and Slingshot going head to head.

There’s also something for the kids to get involved in, with the opportunity for them to ride a mini super truck at the festival.

YouTube guests

Once again appearing at the festival will be three of the biggest trucking YouTubers around. Kev Tee, Luke C in an HGV and Trucker Jay boast over 13 million views on YouTube between them and they will all be appearing to meet trucking fans in the south west.

Live music

Singer, songwriter, performer, agricultural contractor and trucker Marty Mone will be performing on both nights of the festival, bringing his guitar and original songs for all to hear. Having been driving tractors, diggers and lorries since the age of 18, Marty is no stranger to the motoring world and now combines his love of driving with his love of music.

Marty performs a mixture of pop, folk, dance, rap and country music and has performed on the Late Late Show and at the Ploughing Championships.

Stunt teams

Teams from Broke FMX will be entertaining crowds during the weekend with their death-defying stunts. The freestyle motorcross group will be jumping 35ft in the air and over gaps spanning 100ft.

Tickets are available now for both the whole weekend and individual days.

  • Family day ticket (two adults, two children) – GBP36
  • Family weekend camping – GBP70
  • Single occupancy weekend camping – GBP50
  • Additional adult weekend camping – GBP30
  • Additional child weekend camping – GBP15

All ticket prices include a booking fee.
