Gloucester Rugby players go out in fancy dress to mark end of season

Gloucester players have put their Premiership semi-final defeat behind them by going out in fancy dress. The squad have taken to the town for their traditional end-of-season social event, which also acts as a send-off for those who are moving on. Owen Williams posted a picture on Instagram showing a group in Goldilocks outfits with the Wales international himself wearing a bear mask.

Josh Hohneck, Lewis Ludlow, Alex Seville, Alex Craig, Jason Woodward and Ruan Ackermann are seen in dresses and blonde wigs standing on a No8 Scaffolding truck, the company co-owned by Gloucester star Ben Morgan.

It appears to be a tribute to Paddy McAllister, the prop who is moving on to join Connacht, as ‘GB’ has been inscribed on the dresses – his nickname is Golden Bear because of the blond locks he had in his younger days.

Although Gloucester’s season ended in disappointing fashion as they were beaten 44-19 by Saracens to miss out on a place in the final at Twickenham, they have been able to celebrate their highest finish since the 2010-11 season by coming third in the table.
