Emergency services called after car crashes on busy road

Emergency services have been called to a busy main road after a car crash. Police, the ambulance service and fire crews were called to the A159 Beaumont Street in Gainsborough[1] just after 1pm today, Tuesday, June 11. One social media user posted to say that an accident had taken place outside the McDonald’s in Gainsborough and urged motorists to avoid the area.

A photo from the scene shows a black car being loaded onto a vehicle removal truck after part of a wooden fence was knocked down. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police[2] confirmed that its officers attended the scene.

“We were called at 1.03pm today, June 11, to the A159, Beaumont Street, Gainsborough,” he said. “This was a single-vehicle RTC (road traffic collision) involving a car.

Fire and rescue and the ambulance service also attended.” There is no indication at this time of whether anyone was injured in the crash. East Midlands Ambulance Service[3] and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue[4] have also been contacted for comment.
