Biker seriously injured in Derby after crash with pickup truck – Derbyshire Live

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Derby which left a main road closed overnight.

Officers at Derbyshire police are appealing for witnesses to the collision between a motorbike and a pickup truck in Duffield Road.

The incident happened at around 9.35pm yesterday, near to the Five Lamps public house.

This morning the road was reopened and there appeared to be markings and sawdust at the scene.

News of the incident comes after another motorcyclist was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash in Castle Donington this morning.

A spokesperson at Derbyshire police said: “A Kawasaki ZX motorcycle and a Mitsubishi L200 pickup collided, leaving the motorcyclist with serious injuries.

“Paramedics attended and the motorcyclist was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital.

“To help our investigation, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us. We are keen to speak to any drivers who may have captured the vehicles on dash cam prior to the collision as they travelled down Duffield Road towards Derby.


“Anyone with video footage of the incident is asked to download it and keep it in a secure manner for an officer to view then contact us, using any of the below methods with reference number 19000384546.”
