Driver in Hatfield Peverel seriously injured in crash with man arrested on suspicion of drug driving

A man has been rushed to hospital after a crash with a man arrested on suspicion of drug driving. A car, lorry and truck were involved in the crash on The Street in Hatfield Peverel[1] yesterday afternoon (July 19). Emergency services were called to the scene where they found a Citroen car, a Flatbed lorry and a green Scania Tipper Truck.

The Citroen driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries while the driver of the Flatbed lorry also suffered minor injuries.

The Tipper Truck driver, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

He has since been released under investigation.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the collision are asked to contact Stanway Road Policing Unit on 101, quoting incident 752 of 19 July.”
