Pedestrian dies after collision with tipper truck in Hinckley

A pedestrian who was injured in a collision with a tipper truck has died in hospital. The man, who was in his 60s, was struck by a white Volvo truck in Hawley Road, Hinckley at 3.30pm on Friday. The man, who was in his 60s, was taken to University Hospital of Coventry with serious injuries.

He has since died, Leicestershire Police said today. Detective Constable Peter Davies said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who has any information regarding this incident. “Were you in the area at the time?

Did you see the collision? Or did you see the pedestrian or vehicle prior to the collision? “Anyone who has any dashcam from the area at the time is also urged to check this and make contact with us.”

Hawley Road was closed for about three hours between the junctions of Station Road and Rugby Road following the incident, while initial inquiries were carried out.
