Severe M25 traffic at Reigate due to 'large water tank' blocking carriageway

All traffic was held on the M25 between Leatherhead and Reigate due to a large amount of debris covering all four lanes clockwise. Emergency services held traffic while they attempted to clear the debris, which included a “large water/oil tank”, according to Highways England. Inrix, the travel updates service, said: “All traffic being temporarily held and queuing traffic due to accident, pick up truck involved on the M25 clockwise from J9 A243 (Leatherhead) to J8 A217 Brighton Road (Reigate).

“Cameras show that a small pick up truck has shed its large tank off the back in lane four. All traffic is being held whilst debris is cleared up.” Highways England added: “The M25 just after junction 8, there has been a single vehicle road traffic collision, a small truck has crashed and lost its load over the whole carriageway.

All lanes have debris of various sizes. Police and fire are at the scene.” Please take a look at our live blog below for a summary of updates on this traffic situation.
