Truck Festival buses: New 'weekend ticket' on shuttle

A SPECIAL shuttle bus is being put on for Truck Festival this weekend. Thames Travel is running the service, which includes a new ‘weekend ticket’. The company have introduced the GBP10 option for the sell-out small music festival – which begins today near Didcot – for those making multiple trips to the event.

The shuttle service, which runs from Didcot Parkway Station and stops at Rowstock Corner and Milton Heights Turn, will operate throughout the festival. ALSO READ: Foals come home to headline Truck Festival in Oxfordshire The initiative follows traffic chaos two years ago.

In 2017, Steventon’s Hill Farm venue saw gridlocked roads and pedestrian queues of up to four hours to get into the site. Last year the festival introduce Thursday entry to help alleviate the traffic issues, which came in the same year that the festival was hit terrible weather conditions. Phil Southall, Thames Travel Managing Director said: “This is our third year supporting the Truck Festival via a designated shuttle service. The partnership has gone from strength to strength and this year we are delighted to have added a ‘Weekend Ticket’ to our service to enhance our offering to passengers. The shuttle service helps people beat queues at the car park and not have to worry about driving home.”

Single tickets cost GBP3.50, and a return is GBP5.

The GBP10 weekend ticket is aimed at festivalgoers who are not camping but are attending each day.
