Biker dies after tragic lorry crash which closed road for 14 hours

A motorcyclist has tragically died after a collision involving a HGV on a busy Midlands road. The tragedy unfolded on a Stoke-on-Trent road. The road has been closed for 14 hours.

A major investigation is underway after the biker’s death following the collision with the lorry. Police and paramedics were called to Campbell Road in Stoke shortly before 4pm yesterday (August 13), reports StokeonTrentLive . They swooped on the scene after receiving reports of a two vehicle crash.

On arrival it became apparent the motorcyclist – who has not been identified – could not be saved.

An investigation is now underway and the road remains closed between the A500 and Birmingham Road.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “There has been a fatal road traffic collision on Campbell Road in Stoke between a motorcycle and a heavy goods vehicle. “The incident was reported at 3.57pm and sadly the motorcyclist passed away. “An investigation is now underway and there will be further updates from officers expected throughout the day.

“The road has been closed since then by the Collision Investigation Unit.”
