Festival goers were shocked to return to their vehicles after the GBP340-a-head event and discover criminals had partially dismantled them.

Shocking photographs show entire sets of wheels, seats and engine parts were stripped from numerous cars parked at the Creamfields festival in Cheshire.

The victims of thefts at the Daresbury estate included the owner of a Range Rover who discovered almost the entire front end of the luxury vehicle was missing.

The images were posted to a Facebook with the caption: ‘Never thought I’d post this, but here’s the best of stolen car parts – Creamfields car park 2019.’

Plasterer Josh Hayes, 24, was one of the unfortunate ones whose car was broken into as he enjoyed the likes of Calvin Harris and The Chemical Brothers at the festival.

He said the damage total had come to GBP1,100 and he is now taking legal advice about whether he can get any money back from the event organisers.

Mr Hayes, from Lincoln, told MailOnline: ‘I walked round and saw glass all over the floor and saw the dashboard ripped apart where they tried to steal the radio.

It looks like they didn’t have the right tools to remove it, so it looks like they either got spooked and left it or they just got up.

‘Obviously it was a bank holiday Monday, there’s me just ringing round local garages and car part shops to see if they’ve got at least a window so I can go to work.

Criminals partially dismantled cars while festival goers were attending the GBP340-a-head event

‘I managed to get the window fixed today, and had a drive round in my partner’s car to go to car parts places to get everything as cheap as possible. In total it’s about GBP1,100 in damages and that’s loss of wages.’

Autism support worker Alana Fisher, 30, was also broken into while she enjoyed the dance music festival, which has been running since 1998

She said: ‘I was totally distraught when I got back to the car, and emotional but my friends got there first. All our stuff was lying out on the bonnet and the grass.

‘Everything had been raided. My friends purse was found over at another man’s jeep which had been broken into as well.’

Responding to the post, Craig Sim said: ‘Think how much they paid for parking and it’s not even secure.

I’d be suing the organising so quickly! What a joke!’

Rhys Lynch added: ‘Sad times for festival goers this year, professional thieves entering a secure car park removing parts from valuable car parts.’

Bethan Warburton said: ‘Security done a pure shocking job this year! Happy to take GBP325 for a silver ticket for four days, and some pay extra for parking.

‘But isn’t happy enough to ensure that all cars are safe in the car park!

Be something if they even had cameras or extra staff to monitor the car park, considering how much money they make!’

But Sean Burke made a light-hearted joke about the situation, saying; ‘Range Rover Evoque front bumper, headlights and tail lights for sale. DM for info. Bonnet sold.’

This is not the first time cars have been pillaged at Creamfields.

In 2017, Wilson Imrie, 25, got a ride back to Fife in a recovery truck after his car seats were stolen.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: ‘Police are appealing for witnesses following five reports of thefts from cars parked in the Creamfields car park over the weekend.

‘A number of cars had various parts stolen from them while owners enjoyed the festival. Wheels, bonnets, rear windows and even a dashboard from inside a vehicle had been taken sometime over the weekend.’

Chief Inspector Julie Westgate said: ‘Some of those affected were stranded as their cars were undrivable and had to be towed.

‘It’s not just the inconvenience for the victims, it’s the cost of the damage done and their ability to get to work after the bank holiday weekend.

‘These reports are being taken seriously and we are investigating a number of lines of enquiry.

‘The suspects must have required a large vehicle to transport them from the site due to the size of the items stolen.

‘I’d urge anyone who was in the nearby area, who may have dashcam footage or any information to contact police so that we can find those responsible.’

Tickets for this year’s festival cost up to GBP340 for ‘gold’ four-day camping passes. Creamfields and its owners Live Nation were contacted for comment today.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact them on 101 or by clicking this link, quoting ‘IML 497722’. Anyone with dashcam footage can click here.

Details can also be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
