Live: A1 shut near Tinwell as crash sees van driver trapped under lorry

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A1 near Tinwell in Rutland this afternoon (August 19). Emergency services were called to the road, near to the junction with the A6121 today. The crash, which involved three vehicles, saw a van go under an HGV.

The man in the van became trapped as a result and was rescued by fire crews. He has since been taken to hospital by air ambulance. Fire crews are now making the vehicles safe.
