Severe M3 traffic after overturned lorry leads to lane closures

There was heavy traffic on the M3 southbound due to an overturned lorry that closed two lanes on Friday afternoon (August 2). Two lanes were closed between Junction 4 (Camberley) and Junction 4A (Farnborough) due to the crash that caused long delays back to Junction 3 (Bagshot/Lightwater). INRIX reported that travel time past the incident was between 30 to 35 minutes.

It read: “Two lanes closed, long delays and queueing traffic for six miles due to overturned lorry on M3 Southbound from J4 A331 ( Camberley ) to J4A A327 (Farnborough). Congestion to J3 (Bagshot/Lightwater). Travel time is 30 to 35 minutes.

“Lanes one and two (of four) are closed, where ambulance and fire engines are on scene, with a recovery truck on standby.”

The crash is thought to have happened at around 2.45pm.
