A woman was taken to hospital following a crash involving a car and an HGV in a Fife village on Wednesday afternoon. The collision took place near the petrol station on Main Street, Dairsie, at about 2.40pm. The road was closed until 4pm as the vehicles were recovered.

The car involved in the crash is said to have been ruined. The female driver was not badly injured in the collision. Stagecoach 94 service buses – which serve St Andrews, St Michaels, Balmullo, Guardbridge and Leuchars – were diverted as a result of the crash.

Due to an R.T.C in Dairse, the 94 service wont be able to serve Balmullo, St Mich’s Leuchars or Guardbridge to St Andrews.

Services are going out normal route but will be diverted from Dairse roundabout. Apologies for the delays and diversion — Stagecoach East Scot (@StagecoachEScot) August 14, 2019

A police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 2.40pm to Main Street.

It is two-vehicles. Ambulance have been contacted. “The driver of the car is being taken to hospital.

Recovery will be required for the car.

It is not drive-able.”
