Crash closes part of A38 as firefighters attend scene

A crash has closed part of the A38 this morning and traffic heading from Plymouth to Exeter is queuing at at Ashburton. Video from the scene shows shows police, firefighters and Highways England are still at incident. Two vehicles – a car and pick-up truck – have left the road and come to rest on the verge.

At 9.27am,  Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix reported: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved on A38 Eastbound between B3352 ( Ashburton Rockpark Cross, Ashburton ) and A383 (Goodstone Junction, Caton ). Lane one (of two) is closed heading towards Exeter.” Police have said no injuries have been reported.

Meanwhile, one lane is eastbound  is closed at Saltash  due to broken down vehicle on A38 before Tamar Bridge. “Traffic is coping well. Lane one is closed with traffic using the centre (tidal lane) to pass,” reports Inrix.
