Driver seriously ill after pick-up and tractor collide

(Updated at 10:30am 2nd September 2019) Police say one person is seriously ill after a collision involving a pick-up truck and a tractor in the Stokesley area of North Yorkshire. At 12.15am today (Monday) a white Nissan Navara pick-up truck and a JCB tractor, which was towing a trailer, collided on the A172 near to Chestnut Farm in Great Ayton.

A large quantity  of grain was scattered across the road, delaying efforts to re-open it. The driver of the Nissan Navara sustained serious injuries and was taken to James Cook Hospital for treatment. Police are appealing for anyone who either witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to it, to contact them.

They are particularly interested to speak to anyone who may have captured dash cam footage.
